the short version: we collect your email only if you give it to us, we never sell it, our analytics do not use cookies, and your payment details never touch our servers.

who we are
guided builds is a sole trader business operated by Renaldas Freimanas, trading from 66 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NA. for anything on this page, including any request about your data, write tohello@guidedbuilds.com. Renaldas Freimanas is the data controller for the information described below.
what we collect, and why
your email address
only if you give it to us — by signing up for the Thursday Brief, or by buying something. signup emails are held in Kit (ConvertKit), our email provider. we use it to send you the Brief and, if you have bought, the emails that come with your purchase. you can unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of it.
lawful basis: consent for the Brief, which you can withdraw at any time; legitimate interests for emails about a purchase you have actually made.
purchase information
payments are taken by Payhip, with Stripe processing the card details.we never see or store your card number. Payhip and Stripe act as our processors and hold the transaction record; we receive your email address, what you bought, and when. we also keep a record of when your files were made available to you, because we may need it to answer a payment dispute.
lawful basis: performance of our contract with you, and our legal obligation to keep accurate tax records.
analytics
we use Plausible Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track you across websites or build a profile of you. it tells us which pages are read and roughly where readers came from, in aggregate. because it sets no cookies and collects no personal data,this site does not need a cookie banner, and does not have one.if we ever add advertising tracking, a consent prompt will appear first and nothing will load until you answer it.
lawful basis: legitimate interests in understanding, at an aggregate level, whether the site is useful.
how long we keep it
- email address: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, after which it is removed from Kit.
- purchase records: six years after the end of the relevant tax year, because HMRC requires it. these records cannot be deleted on request while that obligation applies.
- analytics: aggregate only, with no personal data to retain.
who else sees your data
only the providers that make the service work: Kit (email), Payhip and Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting) and Plausible (analytics). each acts on our instructions. we do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. some providers are outside the UK; where that is so, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers have in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
your rights
under UK GDPR you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- correct it if it is wrong
- delete it, where we are not required to keep it for tax purposes
- restrict or object to how we use it
- withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time

complaints
if you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first — we would rather fix it. you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office atico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or on 0303 123 1113.
changes
if this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects you, say so in the Brief.
